Why we bottle in glass, and why we also make cans

The two formats are not a compromise. They are for different afternoons.

HoneyTea comes in a high quality recyclable glass bottle, sealed with a premium cap. It is the format the drink was designed around and it is the one we would choose if we could only have one.

What glass does

Glass is inert. It contributes nothing to the drink, which matters more than it sounds when the recipe has no preservatives in it and relies on pasteurisation instead. It also keeps its temperature well, and it feels like something — a cold glass bottle out of a bucket of ice is a large part of the pleasure.

What cans do

Cans chill faster, weigh less, survive a bag, and go places glass sensibly should not. They are the format for the gym, the picnic, the train and the desk drawer.

The liquid inside is the same in both. Choose by where you are going to drink it, not by which one you think is better.

Both are recyclable

The bottles are recyclable glass. The cans are aluminium. Rinse, and put them in the right bin — the bottle cap goes with the metals.
